YOUR QUESTIONS
How long do sessions take?
Session times will depend on if it is just standard headshots, or if it is a more involved personal branding session. It can be anywhere from 10 minutes (headshots), up to 3 hours (personal branding).
What should I bring with me?
For Personal Branding sessions, it’s really useful if you can bring props with you; like your laptop, favourite coffee mugs, accessories like notepads, pens, diary and anything else that represents your business. Remember business stationery such as business cards or branded merchandise.
What happens during the session?
Personal Branding – We will have a pre session consultation to talk through what your business does, what sorts of images appeal to you and represent you and your business, what you will be using the images for and we will discuss possible locations for the shoot.
During the session I will take a range of images which may include your office, your products, you interacting with customers/clients/employees and most importantly images of you!
What is the difference between a Personal Branding session and a Headshots session?
Headshot images are what people use for LinkedIn profiles, company websites just to name a few. They are either in studio with a plain background, or can be outdoors. As the name suggests, a headshot is when I photograph a person’s head!
Personal branding sessions include headshots, but the headshots are taken outdoors, or in places that reflect your business (e.g. cafe, gym, home, studio). This type of session is focused on your brand and your personality, with the images being used for social media.
What should I bring to the session?
I have some beautiful maternity outfits to choose from which are mainly white and black to fit my style of photography. If there is a special outfit that you would like to be photographed in, bring it along!
In addition to this, I also ask mums to bring:
- White/black/beige underwear (g-string, briefs or boy leg shorts – whatever you feel comfortable in)
- Strapless nude or white bra
Don’t worry if you don’t have all of these items. The most important thing you will need to bring to your session, is beige or white underwear (it doesn’t have to be matching though!). However everything else is a nice to have! I remember when I was pregnant, I think I spent most of my time wearing granny knickers! Just bring what you have and we will make it work.
Do you work weekends?
Yes, I work on Saturdays.
What do I wear to the session?
Simple is always best. Keep in mind your brand colours; so choose clothes that coordinate with them. I always suggest to avoid patterns. Accessories (such as jewellery, watches, etc) can also add a lovely, personal touch.
