A little behind the scenes of what running a photo A little behind the scenes of what running a photography business around family life actually looks like 🤍 Some days are a real mix — gym, dog walks, editing, beautiful sessions, studio resets, school runs… and trying to remember to eat enough protein somewhere in between. I had the loveliest maternity session, followed by headshots, and it was one of those days that reminded me how much I genuinely love the variety of what I do. Colour or black & white? I couldn’t choose either Colour or black & white? I couldn’t choose either 🤍 That tiny smile. Those little hands. And Mum and Dad wrapped around her. These are the details that feel so ordinary in the moment, but become the ones you want to remember forever. Christmas chaos in the studio! 🎄 It took four adu Christmas chaos in the studio! 🎄 It took four adults to get the backdrop onto the wall — thank you Stu, and Stu’s mum and dad! — and two of us to haul everything down from the loft and into the studio. When I say that a huge amount of preparation, thought and care goes into creating my Christmas set each year, it really is an understatement. Every detail is considered, and I’m so excited to finally see this year’s set coming together. A huge thank you to everyone who has already registered their interest — and especially to the past clients who have already messaged asking to book their slots before they’ve even seen the finished set! It honestly means so much. I’ll be photographing the completed set this week, with Christmas Mini Sessions launching at the end of the week. ✨ If you’d like first access to booking, comment XMAS below and I’ll send you the link! Last year’s sessions sold out very quickly, so I’d definitely recommend joining the list if you’re hoping to secure a particular date or time. I first met Teddy the Cockapoo when Hannah was pre I first met Teddy the Cockapoo when Hannah was pregnant with Ryan… and now here he is with Ryan, keeping a very close eye on Lily and Rose, the newest additions to their family 🤍 There are so many gorgeous images from this session, so watch this space… there’s lots more to come! One of my favourite flashbacks to Sophie & Richard One of my favourite flashbacks to Sophie & Richard, waiting to meet baby Annabelle 🤍 Although technically, they were already a little family of three… because gorgeous Rosie the Cockapoo was absolutely not being left out of their maternity session. I love looking back at these photographs. That stage just before your baby arrives is such a fleeting one - full of excitement, anticipation and all those conversations about who this tiny person is going to be. At the time, Annabelle was still a bump and Rosie was still the baby of the family. Sophie and Richard came back to see me again after Annabelle arrived, which makes these photographs even more special to look back on now. I’m not able to share their newborn images, but I feel very lucky that I got to capture both chapters for them. Maternity photographs become such a beautiful marker in time. Not just of your bump, but of who you were together just before you became a family in a whole new way. I’m currently looking at Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November (dates TBC), and before I start planning this year’s set I’d love to get an idea of how much interest there is.
