‘Project Doorstep’ – Raising money for the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, whilst documenting history!

“We take photos as a return ticket to a moment that is otherwise gone.’

I appreciate that a lot of you reading this quote are probably thinking to yourselves “Why would I ever want to relive this time over again!?’ I mean, who wants to remember being stuck in lockdown – not being able to hug our favourite people or enjoy maternity leave, missing family celebrations and the joys of working at home with children and homeschooling!

However, this is something that will hopefully never happen again and is an experience we will want to share with our children and grand/great grand children, when they are older.

As a photographer, I have an extremely strong desire to capture this period in our lives. Project Doorstep is about capturing family portraits on their doorsteps. Each one as a record of the people who you spent time with, riding out this storm.

I have started photographing local Horsell families on my daily walk. Once lockdown restrictions are relaxed, I will visit those families in Woking and surrounding areas within a 2 mile radius.

This 5 minute session on your doorstep, can be for new parents expecting a baby, parents who have had a lockdown baby, big families, small families and couples. You may even be a small business and want to show that you’re still hard at work and open for business.

At this stage, I am not sure what the end product will be – a book, an exhibition or perhaps simply a blog. However, as always with photography, if it’s not captured at the time, there is no way of going back.

Register your interest by completing the contact form by clicking here. Please include your name, address and a bit about how lockdown has been for you and your family in the message section and I will be in touch. If you would like to be involved, but would prefer for your photo not to be shared with the public, that is absolutely fine. I would still love to hear from you!

There is no charge for this mini doorstep session. However, the other aim of ‘Project Doorstep’ is to raise money for our local Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. They do incredible work for those people with advanced life threatening conditions, so I would be ever so grateful if you would be able to make a donation to this wonderful charity.

Each family who goes on to be involved in this project, will receive a complimentary digital image as a keepsake.

Lets come together, whilst being apart and document this historical moment.
