How to capture beautiful maternity photos during lockdown

Being pregnant is the beginning of an incredible adventure. Whether it be your first pregnancy, or you’re expecting a new addition to your family. It is such a momentous time and therefore one we should capture.

When lockdown hit, it was with great sadness that I had to cancel quite a few maternity sessions. Unlike newborn, sitter and cake smash, maternity sessions are not ones that can be postponed, for obvious reasons!

To help my lovely clients who had booked in for a maternity session and for those who wanted to book but couldn’t due to lockdown, I have created this tutorial. It provides some tips and tricks on taking DIY maternity photos at home. The photos won’t be representative of photos you may have had taken by a professional photographer, but is just something I have produced that allows you to be able to create your own memories in the safety of your own home.

This moment in your life should be captured on camera. You will be creating the beginning of your unborn baby’s story of life (and what a story you will be able to tell them!).

I can’t wait to get back to photographing beautiful mums and babies, but until then, I hope you find this tutorial useful.

Stay safe, stay well and stay sane.
